Hot Tub Cover
Hot tub covers are constructed from insulating foam with metal reinforcing, and the whole lot is wrapped in a vinyl covering.
The hot tub cover performs several functions
- it keeps the sun off the acrylic shell
- it keeps out leaves and debris
- it insulates the hot tub keeping the heating bills down
- it acts as a barrier to keep out small children or unwanted guests
The cover must fit well to provide effective at insulation and should be lockable for safety. The vinyl that encapsulates the cover can deteriorate over time when exposed the direct sunlight although there are some products available to treat the vinyl to prolong its life. Thermal blankets that float on the water surface can be also be used to supplement the cover in colder climates and can also help in maintaining water chemistry.
