Marble Effect Bathroom Tiles

A perennial favourite for many, marble effect tiles are a very popular choice when it comes to decorating the walls of your bathroom.

In the following bathroom they have chosen to install a relatively large tile with a light grey marble pattern. Grey is one of the most common finishes and is ideal as it does not anchor the room to one particular colour - other items such as curtains, blinds, towels or bath mats can be used to introduce colour into the room but can easily be changed if required. This shade also keeps the overall design nice and light which is useful in most bathrooms as they tend to be quite small with relatively small windows for the room size, although this is not always the case, obviously. If the tiles are only being fitted in one part of the room, such as inside a shower cubicle, then a more intensive colour can be introduced to dramatic effect. If you want a more authentic finish then it is also possible to fit real marble tiles rather than ceramic tiles with a marble pattern under the glaze.

A recessed mixer shower has been fitted through the tiles on one wall and a bath shower screen fitted opposite. Care must be exercised when drilling and cutting tiles to ensure they do not crack. You must also be careful when fitting the items as over-tightening can also result in breakages.

To compliment the bathroom tiles the ceiling in this room has been fitted out with a wood-effect upvc panel which provides a maintenance-free surface that will not harbour mould - which can be a problem area in bathrooms especially when there are showers in the room.
